LIVE Wreath Auction + SILENT Online Chocolate Auction
The 33rd Annual Wreath & Chocolate Auction will feature a live auction of handcrafted wreaths along with a silent online auction of delicious chocolate creations donated by generous local supporters.

Each December, the Museum of the Mountain Man hosts the Wreath & Chocolate Auction, a favorite holiday tradition of many Sublette County residents. Since its start in 1994, this event has brought together individuals, organizations, and businesses from across the community to create and donate beautiful handcrafted wreaths and chocolate delights in support of local history.
Held on the first Friday evening of December, the Wreath & Chocolate Auction is one of the primary fundraisers for the Sublette County Historical Society and the Museum of the Mountain Man. Funds raised directly support the Museum’s educational programs and publications, including Living History Days, Green River Rendezvous Days, and the Rocky Mountain Fur Trade Journal
Now in its 33rd year, the evening brings the community together for a festive night of food and high spirited bidding. The live auction features unique, handcrafted wreaths created and donated by talented local supporters, while the silent online auction offers an enticing selection of chocolate creations. Jay Fear, SCHS Board Member, returns as auctioneer, keeping the energy lively and the bids spirited.
A special highlight of the evening is the Gayle McMurry Kinnison Memorial Wreath. Displayed each year in her honor, it stands as a lasting tribute to her generosity and dedication to the community.
Thanks to First Bank, which generously sponsors the evening’s food, guests enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere while celebrating the season with friends and neighbors.
Whether you come to bid, donate, or simply enjoy the holiday spirit, the Wreath & Chocolate Auction is a wonderful way to celebrate community, support local history, and help keep the stories of the Rocky Mountain fur trade alive.
